CALIPARI, BOEHEIM, HUGGINS, DUNPHY TO OFFER AUDIO INSIGHTS DURING MARCH MADNESS
SAN FRANCISCO (March 10, 2010) -- Lexy, a new exclusive technology platform designed to offer personalized, on-demand, audio entertainment for the mobile market, will introduce its "Starting 5" Lexycasts from four leading college coaches and Lexy basketball experts during this year's post-season NCAA tournament, providing immediate, behind-the-scenes insight for basketball fans everywhere.
Coaches joining the Lexy "Starting 5" team are head coaches: John Calipari, University of Kentucky; Jim Boeheim, Syracuse University; Bob Huggins, West Virginia University; and Fran Dunphy, Temple University. The fifth member of the "Starting 5" will be a rotating lineup of NCAA basketball 'Lexycasters' who will offer their unique opinions and information during the post-season.
Lexycasts are authentic, interactive, timely audio posts, usually one to three minutes that can be published to any mobile phone and anywhere on the internet, including Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. Mobile followers are alerted to new posts via text message and then make a simple phone call to listen and leave comments.
To follow the "Starting 5" during the tournament, visit lexy.com/ts5 and sign up to be a follower of any or all the coaches (add TS5 will give you a text with all Starting 5 Lexycasts). Subscriptions to Lexycasts are free (standard text message rates apply). For more information on Lexycasts and Lexy, visit www.lexy.com.
"'The Starting 5' is a fantastic and hoop-friendly example of the world's most interesting people using Lexy to engage with their fans, followers and friends," said Tony Levitan, Lexy co-founder. "During the NCAA tournament, it doesn't get any better than our 'Starting 5' coaches. All stars in their own right, they each have chosen to Lexycast as a way to offer basketball fans the latest information on their tournament contenders from the locker room, practice court, anywhere tourney news is being made."
Coaches will post to their "Lexycasts" five times per week during the tournament in advance of Selection Sunday through the Championship game, giving updates on their own teams during the post-season and commenting on the tournament field as we get closer to the Championship. Also, Lexycast listeners will have the opportunity to ask questions of the coaches, who will answer them in future posts, by submitting them on www.lexy.com.
